We’re wearing tin hats here at the moment; the boss has given up coffee for Lent. He’s been an eight-cups-a-day man for the last 25 years and going cold turkey is proving quite a challenge – for all of us.
We haven’t banned him from drinking tea – thank heavens, because otherwise there would probably be a complete meltdown. What we would love to know is if there is anyone out there who has got any tips on how beat caffeine withdrawal symptoms?
At the moment, Pev (our MD) is combatting the headaches and general grumpiness by rootling through the office fridge and drinking whatever is in there, which is mainly experimental cordials and pressés being developed for next year. It’s driving our new product developer, Alice, nuts, so – in order to save her sanity – we need to find other ways to divert him from the coffee machine. All ideas would be very welcome!
In the meantime, short of putting a large padlock on the fridge, we are encouraging him to stick to this year’s new products including freshly pressed Organic Lemon cordial and pure English Apple pressé.
