Belvoir On For Britain

Belvoir On For Britain is our 2009 campaign to keep Blighty smiling through these tough economic times.

We're blogging away here, giving you the lowdown on all our drinks and anything irreverent we stumble upon while surfing the web.

And every month, we send one or two emails to all our club members. They're short and sweet, and more often than not contain details of a great new competition. Click here to subscribe to our delightful emails. (You can unsubscribe if we ever become boring, but hopefully that won't happen.)

If you've not joined our club already, here are the emails you've missed...

Hello all!

And a very good day to you. After a false start, it appears summer's hotting up again. And it's not just the weather. The Ashes will be won and lost in a heated fifth and final test showdown at The Oval and the first signs of silly season have surfaced with Alton Towers deciding to ban Speedos. Bizarre.

Anyway. Here's what we've been up to recently ....

  Bright Star competition

Bright Star opens in cinemas nationwide on 6 November. We're chuffed to announce that Belvoir Fruit Farms has teamed up with Pathé films to offer you some fantastic prizes: Ten runners up will win tickets to preview screenings of the film, and one lucky winner will win a luxury break for two at Maison Talbooth in Constable Country.

Wedding cocktails

We've been giving your favourite drinks a new twist by commissioning some exquisite new cocktail recipes especially for the wedding season. So if matrimony is just around the corner and you haven't decided on arrival drinks or the all-important wedding toast, allow us to offer a few alcoholic and non-alcoholic suggestions.

Competition time: The Grand Belvoir Buffet! – Belvoir On For Britain

# # #

  3 July, 2009
Hello all!

You know it’s a hot summer when you regret not buying that fan you saw in the January sales. But we shall not complain. (Okay, maybe we will. Just a little. Especially when it’s too muggy to sleep.)

Of course, all this nice weather is courtesy of the top bods at Wimbledon. Because if they hadn’t spent lots of money building that lovely retractable roof over Centre Court, it probably would've rained for the last couple of weeks.

The Grand Belvoir Buffet
We write with news of a fantastic new competition! To celebrate twenty-five years of making elderflower cordial, we’re offering you the chance to win a limited edition Belvoir Fruit Farms jug (made with high quality plastic, so perfect for outdoor use) and box of glass tumblers. We have five sets to give away.

To be in with a chance of winning, all you have to do is tell what food or drink you’d bring to our big 25th birthday bash. A cheesecake that uses our Elderflower cordial? Muffins made with Lime and Lemongrass cordial? A cocktail that contains our Summer Cooler pressé?

Once you’ve decided on your delectable dish or delicious drink, pop it into the comments box on our competition blog post. We’ll pick the winners after the 24th July, so get your entries in before then.

Feel free to include full recipes and instructions if you have them. But don’t worry if your suggestion is a little on the wild and impractical side – the more creative, the better. And yes, you can deliver your idea in the form of rhyme if you so wish (we know how much you like your poems!).

Good luck to all!

Hello all!

Well well well. It's been a busy few weeks here at Belvoir Fruit Farms. We've been up and down the country taking our drinks out to some of the finest shows in the land, finding out what you – our beloved customers – think of our new recipes and old favourites. First stop was London, then across to Badminton and finally back towards the farm via Hatfield in Herts.

This week, we're at The Suffolk Show and The Royal Bath & West Show. If you're going to one or the other, do come and say hello. Our friendly team will no doubt have a collection of our delicious drinks for you to sample.

Win tickets to RHS Hampton Court Place Flower Show!
Yes, we're running a new competition. And this time we'd like photographs of you, in your garden, sipping a glass of Belvoir.

Why? Well, we're going to create our own online flower show. With real gardens made by real people who drink real good cordials.

Email your pics to photos@belvoirfruitfarms.co.uk.

Senders of the best two snaps will each receive a pair of tickets for the Saturday (11th July) of the RHS Hampton Court Place Flower Show. Even if you can't make the show, please do send us your photos. It's always lovely to hear from you.

Good luck and bye for now!

  23 April, 2009
Hello all!

Happy St George's Day!

Here at Belvoir Fruit Farms, we've devised a special way to celebrate England's patron saint slaying the dragon and saving the princess – the rather feisty Dragon's Breath cocktail.

Combining Belvoir Fruit Farms' delicious Raspberry & Rose cordial with a splash of gin and a dash of chilli, the Dragon's Breath cocktail is sure to put some extra fire in your belly this evening.

To read the recipe in full, as well as our birthday wishes to Her Majesty, head on over to the Belvoir On For Britain blog.

And if you do decide to make the Dragon's Breath cocktail, send us your pics!

Another competition!
Since the sun appears to be getting into a habit of shining, we're helping to nudge you towards the picnic season in style.

Belvoir Fruit Farms has five snazzy picnic rucksacks to give away. They're perfect for a picnic on your local park or a weekend away in the country. And the only way to get your hands on one is by visiting the Belvoir On For Britain blog and entering our competition!

That's all from us. Enjoy your St George's Day – however you decide to celebrate.

Bye for now!

Win Tickets to Badminton! – Belvoir On For Britain

  3 April, 2009
Hello all!

A big hooray for spring, which appears to be thinking of turning up sometime soon. Fingers on the farm are well and truly crossed for a fabulous burst of sunshine throughout Easter and beyond. Cross yours too. It might just work.

The breakfast poetry competition produced around 200 entries, all of which we are grateful for. We now have to pick ten winners. Suffice to say there'll be some serious furrowing of brows and yelps of laughter among our team as we sift through the poems over the next few weeks.

Missed the competition? Don't worry. Here's a new one.

Win tickets to the Badminton Horse Trials 2009!
Yes, that's right. Belvoir Fruit Farms has two pairs of tickets to give away for this world-famous equestrian event. And two runners up will each get three bottles of the finest Belvoir Fruit Farms cordial. So even if you don't make it to Badminton, there'll still be cause for celebration.

To find our winners we've decided to run a caption competition. They're always fun – and even if you don't enter, you can still have a good chortle reading everyone else's entries.

So head on over to the blog, take a look a the photo and hatch your best one-liner.

Good luck and bye for now!

  3 March, 2009
Hello all!
It's with much excitement we introduce you to our very first Belvoir on for Britain email. We know it's been a long time since we've been in touch (sorry about that). But we promise we've pulled our socks up and are ready for some regular email action. Belvoir on for Britain is our theme. We know 2009 is going to be a difficult year, what with all the credit-crunching doom and gloom. But we're determined to keep a stiff upper lip and spread some joy around the shores of Blighty. So whether you've been quaffing our delicious drinks for years or only recently experienced your first sip, stick around – this year's going to be bottles of Belvoir fun. We hope you enjoy all the wonderful things we'll be doing in 2009. Speaking of which ...

  Our brand new blog

This year, we'll be writing a blog. A big, real blog. You'll get to read about all the exciting goings on at Belvoir Fruit Farms, get the first scoop on all our new products, and be first in line for all the brilliant competitions we'll be running. What's more, you can add your own pearls of wisdom by leaving comments on our articles. It's all terribly exciting. Read our first post here.

Breakfast poetry

And so to our first competition of the year. The lovely people at Jordans have given us ten hampers full of their tasty cereals. To win one, just pen a short poem about breakfast. There'll be brownie points for rhyming – especially if you can cram the word Belvoir (remember, it's pronounced Bee-ver) – into proceedings. Click here to enter.

And that's the end our very first Belvoir on for Britain email. Short but sweet, we hope. We'll write again later in March, but if you've got some good news to tell us in the meantime, send it to the usual address below.

Bye for now!
